Booking
Bookings are primarily taken through our online booking system, where payment is required to make booking. We also take bookings in person, by email, or by phone, where we will provide instructions and options for payment. We advise booking in advance to avoid being disappointed.
Full payment is required at the time of making any bookings. Bookings will only be confirmed once full payment has been received. The person making the booking accepts responsibility for payment for everyone listed on the booking.
We accept cash, card or BACS payment.
The prices printed on the website or on other media are valid at the time of publication. Blue Coast reserves the right to increase or reduce any of the prices any time after publication. All bookings made before the price change will be honoured at the original price.
Lesson & tour start times are subject to change, and we confirm our schedule weekly based on the conditions forecast. We run morning and afternoon sessions and all time changes will be based around this, however please be aware that your specific start time may change. We will contact you if there is any change to the exact start time of your booking.
Cancellations
Standard bookings
If any named person or group on the booking need to cancel once it has been confirmed, we will provide a hassle-free, 100% refund if you give us 48 hours' notice before your activity start time.
Inside of 48 hours, we've already arranged instructors for your visit and can't easily fill your slot, so we cannot offer a refund in that case.
• Less than 48 hours - no refund
• 48 hours or more - 100% refund or future credit
Group bookings
We offer special pricing for large group bookings (6+ participants). For these bookings we arrange instructor cover well in advance. If a group booking needs to cancel the following cancellation policies will apply depending on the amount of notice given prior to the activity start time:
• Less than 1 week - no refund
• Less than 2 weeks - 75% refund
• 2 weeks or more - 100% refund or future credit
If you book for over 6 persons and receive special pricing and later need to cancel a portion of your group bringing the number of participants to below 6, the pricing will revert to our standard lesson pricing.
Flat & Extreme Conditions
We schedule our lessons around reliable weather & wave forecasts, however conditions can change very quickly and this can be unpredictable. The safety of our clients is of the highest importance to us and we will never run lessons in unsafe conditions. If we deem conditions are not appropriate on the day we will try to contact you in advance. In the very rare event that we have to cancel a lesson we will:
• Rearrange for another day / give a credit voucher for an equivalent future booking
• Offer you an alternative activity if conditions allow
• Give a full refund
Future credit will be valid for 1 year from the original booking date. Refunds will be processed within 30 days from the day of the cancellation.
Course Participation & Acknowledgement of Risk
The activities of surfing, stand up paddleboarding, coasteering, and sea kayaking carry a degree of risk both to people and property, even if enjoyed under proper supervision by qualified instructors.
Our lessons carry moderate risk of minor cuts and bruises and a very small risk of a more serious incident. However, all our instructors follow robust training and procedures to reduce these risks as far as possible without impeding adventurous nature of the activity.
The NCC recognises that well managed Coasteering activity reduces the risk of serious injury or death to an acceptable level. It does not remove it entirely. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.
All customers participating in lessons must make the school aware of any medical conditions, illnesses or allergies which might affect the customers ability to safely participate in the lesson or course. Parents or guardians must sign in for participants who are under 18 years of age. In certain groups where applicable a group leader/guardian can sign i.e. schools, teachers can sign on behalf of the group.
No one should participate in a lesson if pregnant or suffering from a heart condition.
In no circumstances should participants be under the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication at the time of the lesson which may adversely affect their physical abilities. Participants must agree to abide by all instructions and guidance offered by Blue Coast Surf & Paddle staff.
All participants must be able to swim unaided to take part in surf lessons, and be able to swim 50 metres to take part in paddleboard, coasteering and sea kayaking activities.
Participants will have the use of Blue Coast Surf & Paddle equipment during their lessons. We take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and good condition of our equipment, however participants are responsible for immediately reporting any damage caused to the equipment or which becomes apparent whilst the equipment is in their possession.
The company does not seek to limit or exclude any liability for personal injury or loss of life which may occur as a result of its own negligence or that of its employees, officers or agents however, the school assumes no liability in respect of personal injury, loss, damage, consequential loss or third party claims which occur through no fault of its own, its employees, officers or agents. All other liability or conditions implied by law are excluded to the fullest extent possible.
